May, 2008 Meeting:
The May meeting will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 6:30PM - 8:30PM, at the Cleveland offices of Lodestone Digital LLC, located at 4500 Rockside Rd., Suite 150, Independence, OH 44131. This is a new location for Cleveland AUG meetings, just down the street from the PMA. Also, note that we are meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month instead of the fourth Wednesday of the month, our regular Cleveland AUG meeting date.

Speaker: Mike Cooper

Topic: Adobe AJAX Framework, SPRY

• Our topic for this month is Adobe's AJAX framework, SPRY. We will examine both the data functions of SPRY and the SPRY widgets. We will look at the SPRY menu in Dreamweaver CS3 and we will also look at how to use SPRY with previous versions of Dreamweaver. Some of the topics we will cover include datasets, repeat regions, detail regions, SPRY menu bar, SPRY tabbed panels, SPRY accordion, and SPRY collapsible panels. If we have time, we will look into using SPRY for form elements. We will look at using SPRY with XML and HTML datasets.

About our speaker:

• Mike has worked in web design for 8 years. He started out at Bowling Green State University, working on various websites for student organizations, and then moved into departments and divisions of the University including the Office of Student Publications and the Division of Student Affairs. He then became an IT Manager for an import company in downtown Cleveland where he managed the day-to-day IT operations including maintaining their websites. He is currently employed by a trade association in Cleveland where he works as a web programmer creating applications and designing web pages. He has been using Macromedia products for several years now. Starting with Dreamweaver 4, he is currently using MX 2004 Studio, ColdFusion MX, and Director MX.
